Here is an example of the report essay:
Earthquake
Have you
ever experienced a natural phenomenon which shakes yourself and everything
around you? This natural phenomenon can even cause a city to collapse or a big
wave of tsunami to occur. The natural phenomenon is called earthquake which is a violent, shaking movement on the earth’s surface as a result
of energy discharge.
Earthquakes can occur because of several particular causes.
Firstly, an earthquake can happen as a result of the slowly movement of tectonic
plates which are floating on extremely hot, thick magma liquid called mantle. The
heat of the magma liquid causes the plates to move towards each other; the
plates might drift towards each other, avoid each other or slide past each other.
When two or more tectonic plates slide past each other, they might collide or pass
across towards each other; these activities lead an earthquake to
occur. Another cause of earthquake to happen is the volcanic eruption which is
an activity of the magma liquid, that is being pressured to release through
volcanoes. The volcanic eruption often leads to a disruption in the position of
plates that may cause an earthquake to happen. Besides both of above causes
which lead to big earthquakes to occur, other events such as landslides, mine
blasts, and nuclear test cause less strong earthquakes to happen.
Earthquakes are being classified into several types based
on their causes. The tectonic earthquake is the first type of the earthquakes
classification. This type of earthquakes is caused by the movement of tectonic
plates floating on the magma liquid. The tectonic earthquake occurs either on
the continents or in the depth of oceans; the tectonic earthquakes lead to
heavy damages on the land and big waves of tsunami in the ocean. The earthquake
happened and caused a big wave of tsunami in Japan is an example of the
tectonic earthquakes. The other type of earthquakes is the volcanic earthquake,
which is caused by the explosion eruption of volcanoes; this type of earthquakes
is rarely to happen because not all of volcanoes erupt violently. The
earthquake which happened after the violently heavy eruption of Mount Krakatoa
in Indonesia is an example of the volcanic earthquakes. In addition, there are
also some earthquakes that is instead not classified neither into the tectonic
nor volcanic earthquakes. The earthquakes occur because of landslides
underground and nuclear explosions.
Earthquake is a violent, shaking movement that occurs on
the earth’s surface. It can be caused by the movement of tectonic plates,
volcanic activities, landslides, mine blasts and nuclear explosions. It can be
divided into several types: the tectonic earthquake, volcanic earthquake and
earthquakes caused by other natural phenomenons and human activities.
